Sattan.org WordPress Hack Steals Google Traffic

About a week ago I was contacted by someone with a hacked wordpress blog. I hit the Internet looking for wordpress hack information and found a post at NewCoolThang. It said:

The scheme is pretty clever. Apparently what they do is hack into your WordPress site via FTP somehow or other (likely via a vulnerability in older versions of WP), then they modify your wp-blog-header.php file. The purpose of the hack is to siphon off all of your search engine traffic to their spam sites.

Right enough. That’s exactly what the hacker does. It steals your search engine traffic.

Except, it’s not just old versions. Many blogs were saying the “fix” is to upgrade your WordPress. But the hacked blog staring me in the face was the most recent version of WordPress. Clearly, that wasn’t the solution.

Mark Cuban Offers To Fund Entrepreneurs

I was reading Seth’s blog post about billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban offering to fund business ideas.

Seth points out that there’s no shortage of ideas. True. If there is a shortage, it’s perhaps a shortage of the fortitude required to roll up sleeves and bring said idea to life.

I followed the link to Mark Cuban’s offer to fund entrepreneurs.

There are very specific rules an entrepreneur must follow to request funding. Rule #2 is:

2. It can not be a business that generates any revenue from advertising. Why? Because I want this to be a business where you sell something and get paid for it. Thats the only way to get and stay profitable in such a short period of time.

Read that again. Selling something and getting paid for it is the only way to get and stay profitable in a short period of time.
